The Role

As the Officer, Corporate Partnerships, you’ll be integral to our work in helping vulnerable children achieve a brighter future. You will cultivate and steward a portfolio of existing awards and new funding opportunities to generate funds in support of Save the Children's domestic and international programs. This will be achieved by providing outstanding service to a portfolio of corporate partners and prospecting new opportunities with them. Under Managing Director guidance, you will support and lead, as necessary, in driving transformational partnerships and developing strategic plans consisting of programmatic grants, global cause-marketing promotions, employee engagement and other key tactics as defined. Ultimately, you will position Save the Children as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to their donors and lead these partnerships to generate more funding to power our impact for children.

What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)*

Generate New Funds (45%)

  • Proactively seek opportunities to generate multiple 6 and 7-figure gifts for Save the Children by growing accounts as assigned.
  • The Officer’s portfolio should generate no less than $3.5 million in cash for Save the Children annually, inclusive of emergency specific response efforts.

Partnership Stewardship (45%)

  • Develop and implement a donor engagement plan for all assigned donors and grants under management.
  • Ensure full compliance and partner satisfaction for all applicable commitments in place with the partners, including but not limited to: reporting, communications, implementation of cause promotions, donor recognition, facilitating field visits and volunteer opportunities, etc.
  • As key point of contact for assigned corporate partners, the Officer is responsible for establishing trust with their portfolio of donors. To this end, the Officer will act as a liaison with other teams across the Save the Children to ensure client programs are effectively executed.
  • For global accounts, ensure information sharing with other Save the Children member offices.

Landscape Awareness & Special Projects (10%)

  • Stay up to date with trends in fundraising with the private sector, shared value partnerships, cause marketing, as well as partnerships for domestic, international development, and humanitarian impact.
  • As required, represent the Corporate Partnerships department and lead special projects or perform other duties for the benefit of the team. Assignments may include serving as a mentor, managing an intern, leading cross-departmental working groups, etc.

Required Qualifications For The Role

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, plus at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Project management experience with proven ability to work across a large, multi-faceted team
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and steward strong partnerships with significant client-facing experience
  • Demonstrated organization skills with keen attention to detail; proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Adaptive to change
  • Self-starter with problem solving mentality
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite, Zoom and Teams
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally

Preferred Qualifications For The Role

  • Experience working with corporations and/or in a non-profit fundraising role
  • Experience managing product donations and knowledge of key players and industry trends
  • Demonstrated ability to write and communicate persuasively, clearly, and concisely, to synthesize information from multiple sources into a single, effective fundraising document
  • Experience using Blackbaud CRM and/or Salesforce
  • Knowledge of poverty issues within the United States and globally

Compensation

Save the Children is offering the following salary ranges for this position, dependent on candidate location:

  • Geo 1 - NY Metro, DC, and other locations with labor costs significantly above national average: Target Salary for this position is $84,150 – $94,050 base salary
  • Geo 2 - Locations around the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $76,500 – $85,500 base salary
  • Geo 3 - Locations significantly below the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $68,850 – $76,950 base salary

The salary ranges listed above are for US based candidates. For candidates located outside of the US, salary ranges will be based on the salary scales of the local employer of record. Actual base salary may vary based on, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location (more information on job structure is available here).
