Job Title: **IT Network Engineer II - Enterprise** **Position Details:** + **Location: This position will be remote; preference would be EST hours to support.** + **Schedule: M-F, 8 am-5 pm (EST hours), some flexibility may be required for troubleshooting support.** + **Interview Process: 1st Round Video Interview Required, 2nd Round Possible.** + **Travel: Possible travel to Corning, NY or Charlotte, NC is possible. Approximately 5% travel or less.** **SCOPE/PURPOSE OF POSITION:** Contribute to the design and deployment of automated solutions to optimize network performance, zero touch deployment of standard network equipment with the goal to eliminate manual CLI/GUI intervention. Development of Network Analytical Dashboards with Solarwinds to provide visibility of current network status, including device health, traffic patterns, and resource utilization. **ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for Network Analytics and Network Automation topics, providing technical expertise, design skills, etc. + Design and develop robust automated solutions, for network equipment including switches, routers, etc. using tools such as Itential, Ansible, Python, Terraform, and APIs. + Development and design of network dashboards to provide a centralized view into health of network, performance, and potential vulnerabilities and issues utilizing data from various sources including ServiceNow, SolarWinds, Splunk, etc. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive efficiencies, improve network security, reliability, and integrate automation at the ground level into network operations. + Identify potential automation use-cases, solicit automation ideas from IT teams and the business using data from the network, generating value for Corning. + Provides problem resolution and serves as point of technical escalation on complex problems. + Act as technical leader and provide technical guidance to fellow engineers within the organization. + Develop and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD). + Ensure automation processes adhere to industry best practices and organizational standards. + Ensure the accuracy and reliability of network automation through rigorous testing and validation processes. + Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in network automation technologies. **EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:** + 4-year degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred), Associate's Degree or trade certification (minimum required) **WORK EXPERIENCE:** + 7+ years implementing, supporting, and troubleshooting network devices/functions/tools/processes in a large enterprise. + 4+ years developing and utilizing network automation in a large-scale enterprise environment. **REQUIRED SKILLS:** + Ability to work both independently and as part of a global team. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. + Ability to successfully navigate global teams across time zones, geographic borders, cultures and lines of business. + Understanding of network protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs). + Skilled in configuring and managing network devices (e.g., routers, switches, wireless). + Experience with automation and scripting of Network changes. + Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. + Experience with network observability tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog or others. + Experience in creation and maintenance of system life cycle (SLC) documentation including runbooks and training for operational support teams. + Demonstrated track record of ability to drive projects to successful conclusion on time and within budget. **DESIRED SKILLS:** + Hands on experience working directly with products from core networking vendors such as Cisco, Arista, Juniper, Meraki, Infoblox, Zscaler and VeloCloud SDWAN. + Experience with scripting languages/toolchain automation products such as Python, Itential, Ansible, Terraform etc. + Experience configuring and using monitoring/alerting/forensic tools (e.g. SolarWinds, NetBrain, CACTI, Wireshark). + Experience with network security practices and tools (e.g., NAC). + Familiarity with ServiceNow for automating workflows. + CCNA, Network+ or other recognized industry certifications. **Pay Transparency:** + This is the pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay someone for this position is **$37.50/hour - $50.00/hour** . + Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K (provided minimum eligibility hours are met).
