Job Overview:
As an On-Call Security Officer (Floater) for Cambridge Security Services, you will be a vital member of one of Florida's most respected security firms, safeguarding some of the most prestigious properties and schools. This position requires flexibility and will be responsible for conducting foot or vehicle patrols, controlling access, securing equipment and people, responding to emergencies, and preventing criminal activity.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols of designated areas (interior and exterior).
• Monitor entrances, exits, CCTV, and alarm systems.
• Control access and egress, ensuring only authorized personnel enter the premises.
• Respond to irregular or unusual conditions, including safety hazards or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering or carrying forbidden items.
• Investigate and prepare detailed reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
• Provide courteous assistance to customers, employees, and visitors.
• Sound alarms or contact emergency services as needed.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensing: Current security officer license issued by the State of Florida, Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
• Experience: Verifiable and meaningful work history, especially in security or a related field.
• Skills: Strong oral and written communication, active listening, attention to detail, and the ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively.
• Other Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a flexible schedule.
  • Must pass a mental health assessment and a drug screening.
  • Must be able to operate communication equipment and interact professionally with the public.
  • If prior military, must provide a DD214 discharge document.

Physical Requirements:

• Environment: Both indoor and outdoor settings, with temperature ranges from moderate to extreme.
• Activity: Primarily walking, standing, observing, and communicating.
• Physical Effort: Minimal stooping or kneeling; mainly standing, walking, and sitting.
