Job Summary:

The Tile Installer is responsible for residential tile installations as part of the Finishes Team at Relax & Company. This role includes preparing surfaces, installing various types of tile, and delivering high-quality craftsmanship in residential environments. The Tile Installer will work closely with the Finishes Manager to complete projects efficiently and in line with company standards. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret blueprints and design plans, and solid problem-solving skills to address any challenges that arise during installation.

Primary Duties:

  • Perform all aspects of tile installation, including surface preparation, measuring, layout, cutting, setting, grouting, and sealing across a range of residential projects.

  • Accurately measure spaces and materials to ensure proper fit and alignment based on design plans.

  • Work with a variety of tile materials, including ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, and specialty products.

  • Follow detailed layouts and blueprints to deliver clean, high-quality results that meet company standards.

  • Handle complex or custom designs with precision and craftsmanship.

  • Complete assigned tasks efficiently, ensuring work is precise, clean, and aligns with Relax & Company’s craftsmanship expectations.

  • Maintain a tidy, organized work area and handle tools and materials responsibly.

  • Conduct self-checks of completed work and make adjustments as needed to meet quality expectations.

  • Work closely with the Finishes Manager and team members to ensure smooth project flow.

  • Communicate any obstacles, measurements that don’t align, or design concerns clearly and in a timely manner.

  • Follow all company safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and equipment.

  • Adhere to OSHA guidelines and contribute to maintaining a safe, well-organized job site.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of full-time, professional experience in residential tile installation is required. This is not an entry-level or training position.

  • Proven ability to complete high-quality tile installations from prep to finish with limited oversight.

  • Extensive hands-on experience working with a variety of tile materials, including ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, and decorative tiles.

  • Skilled in handling complex layouts, precision cuts, and detailed finishing work.

  • Proficient with all industry-standard tools and equipment, including wet saws, grinders, spacers, and leveling systems.

  • Experience with custom tile work, such as walk-in showers, backsplashes, patterned floors, and insets, is highly desirable.

  • Tile installation certification or formal trade training is a plus, but not required if experience is well demonstrated.

Licenses & Certificates:

  • Valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 lbs.) on a regular basis

  • Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, and standing for extended periods throughout the workday

  • Comfortable working on active job sites with varying conditions, including indoors, outdoors, and in occupied residences

  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precision cuts and detailed installation work.
