Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead our quality control efforts in a dynamic food manufacturing environment. This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring adherence to all safety and quality protocols, as well as overseeing the successful implementation of our quality and food safety programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the 'On Hold' product program, including the disposition and release of products.
  • Coordinate testing results for finished products, raw materials, and packaging components, implementing appropriate release and hold programs.
  • Lead the training and development of Quality Department employees, ensuring high standards and continuous improvement.
  • Investigate and address quality and food safety issues promptly, collaborating with management to implement solutions.
  • Actively participate in the Food Safety/HACCP team meetings and contribute to policy and procedure enhancements.
  • Conduct regulatory, third-party, and customer audits with a focus on compliance and corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Supervise and support Quality Assurance Technicians and Quality Control Technicians in maintaining product quality standards.
  • Perform various quality tests on incoming ingredients and finished products, ensuring compliance with established standards.
  • Promote and enforce FIFO practices across departments to ensure product integrity.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 10-15 years of experience in a food manufacturing facility.
  • Knowledge or certification in SQF, HACCP, PCQI, USDA facilities (certifications preferred).
  • Extensive experience with Quality Assurance standards, testing, SOPs, SSOPs, and SQF requirements and audits.
  • Proven ability to manage and mentor a team of QA personnel, including supervisors, leads, and technicians.
  • Strong skills in problem resolution, root cause analysis, and customer complaint management.
  • Experience in developing and updating QA SOPs and processes.
  • Expertise in microbiological testing and analysis.
