OFFICE TECHNICIAN (TYPING) (PERMANENT INTERMITTENT) – NORTH COAST REDWOODS DISTRICT / REDWOODS COAST SECTOR / AUBELL RANGER OFFICE

The reporting location for this position is Aubell Ranger Office located within Crescent City. This position will work under the direction of the Supervising State Park Peace Officer and is responsible for assisting with kiosk operations in the Redwood Coast Sector.

This position will serve as the administrative and lead person for various essential functions within the Visitor Services and Public Safety Division. You will contribute to the success of our operations by overseeing kiosk operations, providing administrative support, and ensuring public safety within the park.

This position may work up to 1500 hours in any calendar year.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license is required. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.

Working Conditions

Must be willing to work weekends and holidays as necessary.  Prolonged standing, bending, and sitting.  Work inside and outside; walking, bending, and lifting.  Frequent walking on even and uneven surfaces.

Special Requirements

• The position(s) require(s) the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications (link available in the additional documentation section). You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired. Additional information regarding acceptable typing tests is available at the CalCareers.ca.gov website.
• The position(s) require(s) a valid California Drivers License (CDL). You must answer the questions addressing your CDL on your application. Ensure you provide your CDL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions.
• The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.
