Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the commander, the Office Technician is responsible for, but not limited to, processing one or more of the following functions: supply ordering, balancing cash box daily, processing 555/PRA request, processing health/dental benefits for Area employees, typing and preparing outgoing correspondence, and monthly/quarterly reports due to Division. Will provide backup and cross-train with other office assistant clerical positions as needed. Answer and route incoming telephone calls and take messages when appropriate. Position is subject to cross-training on arrest records, towed vehicle reports, citations, and subpoena positions to provide back-up as necessary to maintain office functions.

Special Requirements

  • The position(s) require(s) the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications (link available in the additional documentation section). You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired.   • The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.

Ability to multi-task, pay attention to detail, follow written and oral instructions, have excellent attendance and a working knowledge of Word and Excel computer programs. Be tactful and maintain a good rapport with other employees, peers, and supervisors.
