Overview


How You’ll Make an Impact

As a Lead Research Scientist in our Decision Sciences R&D organization, you will be responsible for researching and building machine learning, recommender system, and natural language processing applications to extend Epsilon’s CORE Personalization Platform.

On a day-to-day basis, you will

  • Develop an understanding of Epsilon’s CORE Personalization Platform and proprietary datasets
  • Use your data science and machine learning expertise to research and recommend the best approaches to solving our technology and business problems
  • Design, implement, and validate your solutions in Apache Spark and Apache Hive, using Python or Scala on large, innovative computing clusters
  • Work with our Engineering and Product teams to integrate your solutions into Epsilon’s CORE Personalization Platform
  • Manage projects end-to-end from early-stage research through development, in consultation with partners
  • Fully participate and collaborate in our research and applications projects

What You’ll Achieve

  • Epsilon’s CORE Personalization Platform analyzes anonymized data at Internet scale and evaluates more than one trillion advertising opportunities per month in real-time. You will work on real-world problems as part of our highly collaborative Decision Sciences Research & Development team.
  • By taking on this high-impact role, you’ll use your machine learning, data science and AI solutions to directly and rapidly impact our business. This includes analyzing raw source data and derived data, researching and developing models, algorithms, and applications, building tools and analyses for new and existing products and presenting findings.

Who You Are

  • A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Linguistics, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Physics, Operations Research, or a related scientific field
  • Research experience and coursework in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and/or Recommender Systems
  • 1+ years of experience running research and development projects
  • 2+ years relevant programming experience in an industry environment
  • Fluency in programming
  • Experience with large data sets
  • Strong understanding of modeling and statistical techniques
  • Desire to work in a highly collaborative environment
  • Additional desirable but not required skills include:
    • Experience with distributed and cloud computing platforms, such as Hadoop, Spark, AWS, DataBricks, or related technologies
    • Familiarity with SQL, Python, Java or Scala
    • Experience with Natural Language Processing, Information Retrieval, Mathematical Optimization, Control Theory, Time-Series Analysis, Generative AI or Causal Inference

Base Salary: $91,500-$152,500

Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon, but not limited to the individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location and application employment laws. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
