What To Expect
Consider before submitting an application:

This position is expected to start August/September 2025 and continue through the entire Fall term (i.e. through approx December 2025) or into Winter/Spring 2026 if available. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships.

International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

Tesla Energy is looking for an amazing Software Engineer Intern to help contribute to next generation designs and supporting validation infrastructure. This role entails contributing to validation software and product firmware, all the way from implementation through validation and fleet deployment.

What You'll Do

Develop, enhance and debug new and existing real-time software in C/C++ in embedded RTOS

environments
Work with HW and system teams on building testing infrastructureHelp design and bring up state of the art HIL/SIL validation infrastructureHelp implement software tests for HIL/SIL infrastructureAssist in tool development for testing and system integrationOwn implementation of software/firmware features end to end

What You'll Bring

Pursuing a Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related fieldDesired to have strong understanding of Python debug simple circuitsDesired to have good electrical and electronics fundamentals to be able to understand schematics andDesired to have test driven development mindsetRemain engaged, proactive and positive while solving very challenging problemsOwn assignments and take full accountability for overall team successCapable of delivering top quality C/ C++ code for embedded systems

Expected Compensation

$20.00 - $50.00/hour + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
