Lead Industrial Maintenance Technician in Indianola, IA

Monday-Friday

$25 an hour

7am-3:30pm some overtime as needed and flex time offered

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Maintenance Technician to oversee and perform planned maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency CNC and other repairs for our facility. The ideal candidate will ensure that equipment, systems, and machinery operate safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership ability, and a proactive approach to maintenance management. Familiar with lock out tag out, PLC's Programable Logic controllers, will be working on SCHNIEDER machines used in optometry manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate daily maintenance activities for the facility and equipment
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life
• Respond promptly to emergency repair requests to restore equipment and systems to working condition
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and implement effective solutions
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and reports
• Collaborate with production and operations teams to plan maintenance activities with minimal disruption
• Monitor inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies to ensure readiness for both routine and urgent needs

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training in maintenance or related field preferred 5+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or facilities environment
• Proven experience in both planned maintenance and emergency repair response
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Commitment to safety and compliance standards
