Delhi University (DU) admits students to both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programs based on entrance exam scores. The admission process at DU includes several steps: taking the entrance exam, registering for seat allocation on the official portal, and engaging in the seat allotment procedure. The entire process is conducted in multiple stages which are given below:
Step 1: Register for the Entrance Exam
Admission to all programs at Delhi University’s affiliated colleges, faculties, and departments is based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam. To apply for admission, candidates must register for the appropriate entrance exams.
• Candidates applying for CUET UG must select Delhi University during the application process and choose the subjects they have studied or are appearing for in Class 12th. •If a subject from Class 12th is not listed in the CUET UG application, candidates should select the Language or Domain-Specific subject that best matches their Class 12th subject (for example, if you studied Biochemistry in Class 12th, you should select Biology for CUET UG). •Admission to PG programs at NCWEB is based on CUET PG scores, while UG admissions are determined by Class 12th marks. For the School of Open Learning (DU SOL), admissions are based on merit in the qualifying examination. – Step 2: Appear for the Entrance Exam
Once the application process is complete, candidates must take the entrance exam according to the scheduled dates.
Step 3: Register on the DU CSAS Portal and Choose Course and College Preferences
Candidates who clear the entrance exam must register on Delhi University’s Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) Portal for the seat allotment process. Once registered, candidates will need to choose their preferred colleges and courses
Step 4: Seat Allotment
Seat allotment for all courses will occur in multiple rounds. Delhi University will publish merit lists the Common Merit List (CML). All candidates will be included in the Common Merit List ,based on merit in the qualifying examination. •Candidates will be provisionally allocated the highest possible preference based on the following criteria: → Program-specific merit list → Availability of seats → Social category (UR/OBC-NCL/SC/ST/EWS)
Step 5: Seat Blocking and Final Admission Once the merit list is released, candidates can log into their CSAS dashboard to view the list and accept the allocated seat if offered. → If a seat is allocated in a particular round, candidates must “Accept” the seat before the round’s deadline. The option to accept the seat will only be available during the round in which it was allocated.
→ If multiple seats are offered in the same round, candidates may only “Accept” and confirm admission to one seat.
→ After accepting the provisional seat allocation, the respective Department, Centre, or College will verify the candidate’s eligibility and the documents uploaded.
→ Once the seat allocation is confirmed, candidates must pay the admission fee to complete the admission process.

DELHI UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP
Delhi University provides financial support to both meritorious and financially disadvantaged students through various scholarships.
